Transit Repair
This Ford Transit suffered significant rear-end damage, impacting the rear doors, rear bumper, back panels, and boot floor. Due to the extent of the damage, a comprehensive repair process was required to restore the vehicle to its original condition.
The vehicle was fully stripped down, removing all damaged components to assess the structural integrity of the rear. This allowed access to the rear panels, boot floor, and structural elements, ensuring proper alignment during the repair process.
The existing rear panels were pulled out and reshaped as much as possible using precision pulling equipment. This process ensured that the structural framework was realigned before any replacement panels were introduced.
Once the panels were straightened, the back panel was cut out to remove any severely damaged sections. Before welding in the new panel, all replacement parts, including the rear doors and bumper, were trial-fitted to guarantee a perfect fit. Trial fitting is crucial in ensuring that once welded, everything aligns correctly with the rest of the vehicle.
After confirming the fit, the new back panel was welded into place, securing the vehicle’s structural integrity. The new rear doors and bumper were then installed to ensure the correct factory alignment.
This particular Transit had multiple body kit pieces that required replacement. Once sourced and painted, these body kits were carefully fitted to ensure a seamless transition between panels. Additionally, sealer was applied to all panel gaps to ensure a factory-finished appearance.
Once all repairs were completed, the panels were prepped, primed, and painted to match the vehicle’s original colour. A uniform, high-quality finish was achieved by blending adjacent panels for a seamless look.
Finally, the vehicle was fully reassembled, and all components were securely refitted. The entire exterior was polished and cleaned, ensuring the vehicle looked as good as new before being handed back to the customer.
